SIMPLE is the new acronym for a retirement plan design authorized by Congress. These are to encourage smaller companies to offer a pension plan. The SIMPLE plans incorporate new safe-harbor rules providing the employer is making the required contributions. The changes are designed to assist companies of up to 100 employees with establishing a basic retirement program. Non Profit Corporations gain some increased flexibility in the 403(b) plan design. The salary deferral calculations for all plans are made easier in 2002. The Pension Plans Comparison Chart is designed to assist in walking you through the various plan options.
